By accessing and using this website or the Boundary MCP server software, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Boundary is a local-first, MCP-native multi-agent debate system designed to help software engineers make high-risk technical decisions. The service includes:

  • Boundary Dashboard: An informational website providing information about Boundary, pricing, and download instructions.
  • Boundary MCP Server: Software that runs locally or on your infrastructure to facilitate structured debates between AI agents about engineering decisions.

3. License Tiers

Boundary is available under different license tiers:

  • Free Tier: Limited functionality for evaluation purposes.
  • On Cloud: Cloud-hosted version with additional features and support.
  • On Premise: Self-hosted version with full feature access and enterprise support.

Specific features, limitations, and terms for each tier are subject to the license agreement provided with your chosen tier.

4. Use of the Service

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use Boundary for legitimate engineering decision-making purposes in accordance with these terms and applicable laws.

4.2 Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Use the service to generate harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Share license keys or credentials with unauthorized parties

5. Local-First Architecture and Data Responsibility

Boundary is designed to run locally or on your infrastructure. You are responsible for:

  • Securing your infrastructure and access credentials
  • Backing up your decision reports and debate data
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws
  • Managing API keys and credentials for AI providers
  • Maintaining appropriate security measures for your environment

We are not responsible for data loss, security breaches, or unauthorized access that occurs within your infrastructure.

6. Intellectual Property

The Boundary software, website, documentation, and all related materials are protected by intellectual property laws. All rights, title, and interest in the service remain with the service provider.

Your decision reports, debate transcripts, and any content you create using Boundary remain your intellectual property. You grant us no rights to your content beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

7. Third-Party Services

Boundary may integrate with third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or terms of third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that defects will be corrected. The service is provided for informational and decision-support purposes and should not be the sole basis for critical engineering decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the service provider from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the service, violation of these terms, or infringement of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including violation of these terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. You remain responsible for any data stored locally or on your infrastructure.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and applicable member state laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the European Union, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the service provider regarding the use of the service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
